Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of LendBook ("we", "our", "the app"). LendBook is published by Built4U Apps, the software-products division of A2D Consultancy Services, a sole proprietorship of Deepika Velmurugan (GSTIN 33CCDPD9894E1ZI), registered in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India (the "operator"). By using the app you agree to these Terms. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy.

1. What LendBook Is

LendBook is a private bookkeeping and record-keeping utility for an individual to track loans they have personally given or taken — borrowers, balances, interest, EMIs, due dates, payments, and reports.

2. Not Financial or Legal Advice

The app's calculations, reports, eligibility tools, and generated documents are provided for your convenience and information only. They are not financial, tax, accounting, or legal advice. LendBook does not set, cap, or recommend interest rates — every rate, charge, and term is one you enter for an arrangement you have agreed. You are responsible for verifying figures and for complying with all laws that apply to lending or borrowing in your jurisdiction, including any licensing, interest-rate (usury), stamp-duty, and disclosure requirements. Consult a qualified professional where appropriate.

3. Documents & Agreements You Generate

The agreement and document generator produces templates that you and the other party review, complete, and sign yourselves. We provide the tool, not the legal relationship. We do not witness, notarise, register, or enforce any agreement, and we are not a party to any loan or document you create. You are solely responsible for the accuracy, legality, and enforceability of any document you generate or share.

4. Your Responsibilities

• Keep your device and sign-in secure; you are responsible for activity under your account.
• Enter only data you are entitled to record, and only the minimum needed.
• Obtain any consent required before recording another person's details.
• Treat the borrower and lender details you record lawfully: for that data you are the data fiduciary (controller) — under India's DPDP Act and similar laws — and LendBook processes it on your behalf, inside your private account.
• Do not use the app for any unlawful purpose, harassment, or abusive collection practices — including using reminders or messaging features to harass, threaten, or defame anyone.
• Do not interfere with or abuse the service: no attempts to probe, overload, or disrupt our infrastructure, circumvent plan limits or security, or access another person's data.
• You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering a contract to use LendBook.
• When you record identification or tax numbers (such as PAN or GST), ensure you have the right to do so and handle them lawfully and securely — see the Privacy Policy.

4a. Your Licence to Use LendBook

LendBook is licensed to you, not sold. We grant you a personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for managing your own lending records. You may not copy (except as reasonably needed for normal use), distribute, sell, rent, sublicense, or make the app available over a network to others; and you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, disassemble, attempt to derive the source code of, modify, or create derivative works of the app — except to the extent applicable law or an open-source component's licence expressly permits it. Updates and new features are covered by these same Terms unless they arrive with their own. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved by A2D Consultancy Services.

5. Subscriptions & Billing

LendBook offers a free tier and optional paid plans. Paid subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play (processed via RevenueCat). Payment is charged to your Google Play account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date; manage or cancel them in your Google Play account. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades take effect at the next renewal. A free trial, if offered, converts to the free tier (not a paid charge) when it ends unless you choose to subscribe. Refunds are handled under Google Play's policies.

6. Plan Limits & Downgrades

Each plan has limits (for example, the number of active borrowers and profiles). If you downgrade or a paid plan lapses, existing data is preserved but profiles beyond your new plan's limit become view-only until you upgrade again. Your data is never deleted by a downgrade.

7. Availability & Changes

We aim to keep the app available and accurate but provide it "as is" and "as available". We may update, add, or remove features, and may revise these Terms. The effective date at the top reflects the latest revision; continued use after a change constitutes acceptance.

7a. Third-Party Services

The app works with third-party services we don't control — for example Google Play (billing), Google Firebase (hosting and authentication), and WhatsApp (messages you choose to send). Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and is at your own risk; we are not responsible for their availability, content, or conduct, and they may change or become unavailable without notice. You agree not to use any messaging integration to harass, abuse, threaten, or defame anyone.

7b. No Warranty ("As Is")

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, LENDBOOK IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITH ALL FAULTS AND WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND — express, implied, or statutory — including implied warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, and non-infringement. No advice or information from us creates a warranty. We work hard on correctness (the calculation engine is extensively tested), but you are responsible for reviewing figures and documents before relying on them. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you; nothing here limits consumer rights that cannot be waived by agreement.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, LendBook and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential losses — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — or for any loss arising from your reliance on calculations, reports, or generated documents, from data you enter, or from any dispute between you and a borrower or lender, however caused and under any theory of liability, even if advised of the possibility. The app is a record-keeping tool; the underlying lending relationship and its outcomes are solely between you and the other party.

Cap: to the extent not prohibited by law, our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the app is limited to the greater of (a) the subscription fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) ₹1,000. You are responsible for keeping your own backups using the app's export tools; we are not liable for data you delete.

9. Termination

You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, which permanently removes your data (you can export it first). We may suspend or terminate access for misuse or violation of these Terms; your licence ends automatically if you fail to comply with them. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including 2, 3, 7b, 8, and 10) survive it.

10. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing in these Terms limits any consumer rights you may have under the laws of your country that cannot be waived by agreement.

10a. General

These Terms (with the Privacy Policy) are the entire agreement between you and us about the app, and supersede prior discussions. If any part is held unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our not enforcing a provision is not a waiver of it. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them to a successor of the business. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
