Is LendBook a loan app?

Short answer: no. LendBook does not lend money, disburse loans, or move funds — and it does not access your contacts. It's a private record-keeping app for loans you have personally given or taken: a digital version of your own khata book.

The "loan app" label has been damaged by predatory lending apps that harass borrowers and misuse contacts. LendBook is the opposite of that. It never lends, never contacts anyone on your behalf, and nothing leaves your control.

So what is it, really?

Think of LendBook as a private digital ledger — a khata or bahi-khata in your pocket. If you lend to family, friends or customers, you enter each loan once and record repayments as they come in; LendBook keeps the interest, balances and dues straight, and can produce statements and reports. It's bookkeeping software, not a financial service.

Is it private and safe?

A note on the people you record

Much of what you enter — borrower names and details — is information about other people, kept inside your own private account. You decide what to record, and you're responsible for having the right to record it. LendBook simply stores it for you; it never shares it or contacts anyone.
